Streetwise Istanbul is a collection of images and stories about the street vendors, metro musicians, artisans and others who make a living on both sides of the Bosporus, and to whom Istanbul owes its color and vibrancy. Their words of wisdom often surprise and enlighten.
This project is a collaboration between an American writer, A Turkish photographer, and two Turkish-British translators with the aim of developing gallery exhibitions and presentations about the work.
Please contact Meghan Nuttall Sayres through this website to arrange for events at your school, university, museum or community center.
A social media campaign for Streetwise Istanbul launched in January 2016 on Facebook and Instagram, features weekly posts of profiles of hardworking, warm and creative residents of Istanbul.
